West Virginia a place your feet may leave but your heart will always be poster so you see, my sister, ghana has done something though not enough. the president got it very wrong.
West Virginia a place your feet may leave but your heart will always be poster
you know very well that even the most brilliant girl in your class was not given the same chance as you the men. It’s not been long since Ghanaian women, and those in other African countries were given the right to speak out. Ghana has never made any effort to lift women up in its politics since time immemorial. Any woman who tries to step up is quickly pressed down by the men. So Nana how do you expect the women to form a movement when you always give the chance to men in Ghana? u want it easily, why can’t u fight for it. You are better and more intelligent enough to win power against men. I disagree with that. There are Ghanaian women in parliament, CJ, Former speaker of parliament, ministers , CEOs of cooperate institutions , VCs etc , what else do u want ?
Even university education favors women cos u enter programmes with lesser grade points compared to men. And funny enough, the women perform well in those classes. And u still want more push? how? i broadly agree with you West Virginia a place your feet may leave but your heart will always be poster but you are not entirely right in your assertion that “ghana has never made any effort to lift women up” i still remember in the 80s when nana konadu agyemang rawlings was in charge of child scholarship drive in which ghanaian children were sent to castro’s cuba to study, she, at the time single handedly made sure 45% were girls. one of those girls to benefit is dr hannah bissiw.
