That doesn’t make sense. If I try that on myself, I’m “successful” because others are failing. Nope. I’m successful because I kept trying. Same exact thing you’re saying without discrediting another’s success. (Not sure why you’d do that.) It’s all about one’s effort to get back up in the face of their circumstances and try, try, try again…period. It’s not tied to someone else’s failure. if everyone would be “successful” every single time at everything they were doing, then success would mean absolutely nothing. It would merely be a way of life. If someone is proud of finally managing to successfully tying their shoe laces up this morning despite the years of trying to get it right and failing, I’m sure you wouldn’t think of that person as an inspiration. You’d probably tell them “great to hear mate” and think nothing of it.
