I’m sure a lot of good things have happened in Romania but the situation in orphanages, all too many of them, still is like 30 years ago, to stick with that example. so often we get caught up in a story and news as our lens to envision what is happening in other parts of the world. I find that having a diverse group of friends and travel keeps me informed. By travel I mean stepping into the culture, where people live. Can’t wait to visit Romania. i don’t know why you have to bring into the story , the image of Romania ??! The story was about courage , Unicorn dabbing like a normal amount but more awesome mug love and compassion. And yes the lady was from Romania , but the orphanages weren’t mentioned Being a Romanian myself, I recognize that story. So many people leave Romania in hope of a better life. I am so happy, that you made it, that you are happy and that you shared your fortune with those back home.
they are better but people are still leaving by the millions, basically. Romania is the biggest exporter of degrees in the EU…from professors, doctors and so on. Also 60% of the labor force left the country and its trying to make it somewhere else things are better. We still strugle with corruption, but things are changed since then. We have a european lifestyle now. There are few to no orphanages left, all kids stay with foster parents. We still have a long way to go but mostly Romania is far from what it was in the 90. yes and no. Imagine prices that are more or less to the UK threshold, but the income is very low. Example my mother who worked for 50 years and her pension is 180 pounds a month.
