This touches me to the core. I’m a respiratory therapist. I work with a lot of people struggling to breathe. One thing I teach or use is slow purposeful breathing. Letting them see that they are in control of their panic/anxiety attack. So they can feel like they can breathe. You smell like drama and a headache please get away from me That they are back in control enough to realize they are safe, their vitals are good and yes they are breathing just fine even when their mind and fear tells them their are not. Wow. I’m self taught in this practice. I just knew it worked for me and I was sharing. This message moved me to the core.
Welcome to my new tee!
I totally agree and that’s something that when I am stressing, remind myself to breathe. Go get grounded and breathe. It always calms me. I can then process the problems better and come up with solutions As a licensed massage therapist, the first thing we learned in school was the importance of breathing as well. We learned how to breathe properly. And the first thing I do when beginning a massage is place my hands on the upper back and lower back of the client (or on the tummy if I start them face up) and ask them to take a few slow deep breaths. This prepares them to receive the Massage and their brain to relax. You’d be surprised how many people fall asleep during a massage session too. Why? Because your body heals during sleep and Massage is designed to help aid your body in the healing process. Breath can help prepare your body to sleep as well. It all makes total sense to me. Practice deep breathing daily (use your abdomen to breathe) and you’ll be surprised how quickly your life can change.
