This is why you wear the seatbelt, check the mirrors, know the width of the forklift, never drive with the forks raised.. its just common sense that as a generation we no longer have! Trust me I’m a forklift operator. How the hell did these people get their license i will never know.
Trust me I’m a forklift operator shirt
Most places its not hard to get certified. All I had to do was watch a video and move a stack of pallets. I couldn’t believe how simple it was when you can do so much damage with one if you aren’t careful. Trust me I’m a forklift operator Heck it took me a month to get certified and after that 6 months of experience before they gave me a shift at the place where I work at. Mine was more than a test at my first place I had to stack and unstack lumber up to 20 feet. Same with block and concrete. But the place I’m at now I took a 10 question test and that’s it
We do have a 15 min video but that is part of a 1 month certification program. We need to take comprehensive test if which we need to 90% of the answers correct to be certified. During the month they give us pictures of different loads, understand model and weight specification plate information. We need to drive and they look at how we handle different loads. They also drug test us throughout the month. After the month they require us to have over 300 hours of logged experience and then take the comprehensive test again. If we complete all the requirements then they start give us a shift.
