I noticed people are never happy. Yes, this actually does cover a lot of very important information in regards to how autistics need to be accommodated. There’s nothing wrong with gradual exposure, but I do truly hope that a parent of an autistic child would try to at some level relate (although impossible to truly know what a child is experiencing) to what their child could be enduring during an outing. I think it’s a cruelty to expect an autistic child to adapt without accommodation’s made. Tree hand LGBT pride life They have a diagnosis for a reason! It’s obvious that some have no idea what so ever what it means to have the sensory processing disorder, anxiety, etc., often comorbid of autism. Yet, the same parents will question why it is that their child has a meltdown in the middle of a grocery store or some other overstimulating environment. No wonder there is still so little ground being made surrounding autism awareness and acceptance.

Wonderful information! If only people would read it and act on it. It would be a lot easier on the person with autism and the ones around them. I have said for years that someone needs to talk in assembly every new school year and explain these very things so the children don’t pick and make fun of the kids with this problem.
I wish the Animal Care Center of Plainfield IL would have been patient enough with my son on the spectrum. They fired him after 2 months because he needed too many reminders and this is just my opinion but they couldn’t be bothered to give him a chance and help him succeed.
