Bands like Seether, Nickelback, Three Doors Down, just to name a few are examples of that. Good music is good music, Stitch and Toothless stay different stay weird. no matter what kind of music it is, and we get to share it with friends and newer generations who may have missed it the first time.

Some of you guys brought up some good questions. I think the reason why grunge and alternative rock in general was so popular was because the teens and the young adults at the time could relate to some of those feelings. Look at the what was popular during the 1991-1994 timeframe that this type of music was coming out. Hair metal and hair bands were on their way out, rap was gaining popularity, country was popular and pop music was kind of hit and miss. Stitch and Toothless stay different stay weird. Every generation has their type of music of rebelling and being against what was popular at the times. You look back at the 50’s and artists like Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis were considered the similar type thing, controversial for their time.
The same can be said of the hippies in the 60’s, the glitter rock and disco eras of the 70’s, and the New Wave and goth eras of the 80’s. When you are a teen, you feel like you don’t belong anywhere, but you still wanted to fit in. Like I said above, Nirvana was the right band at the right time. I was one of those teens during that era, and to this day, I still listen to most of those bands and artists from the 90’s, maybe more than the current crop of music. Alice In Chains and Stone Temple Pilots still solider on, but with different singers, and Smashing Pumpkins (at least most of them) have reformed and are going back on tour. Is grunge technically dead? In a sense, no. The genre post-grunge does exist, most of which were inspired by some of the artists that have been mentioned.
