Why don’t we get quality games like we used to in the late 90s or early 2000s? Because these freemiums get the best return for minimum investment. For as long as we keep paying, willingly I might add, for sub standard titles just out of love for the brand name (such as Star Trek, Star Wars, Battlefield, Call of Duty, etc) we keep encouraging publishers to churn this trash out. Vote with your wallets, don’t give them a cent until they give you the game you want.
sad state of games where quantity overshadows quality so much that profit is the first order of business instead of making a product that they are really proud of, and their fans are glad to pay for and enjoy. i understand companies need to make money, buy they should think of the genre they are representing first and make a product that compliments that to new, and old fans, Star Trek Red Suicide Squad instead of leaving a sour taste in our mouths when seeing things like this. The companies are powerless against the primitive hordes of “i want maximum fun for minimum effort“ people. Normally a game should cost minimum 200 €, but good luck finding someone willing to pay. So we don’t get a game, but virtual bullshit
