Respect for back in the day when everything was 100% drawn and hand colored. Now there’s computer animation to help the process. Son Goku best uncle ever. But there’s so many episodes of dbz and other shows that were made by hand. Hundreds of man hours.

Literally drew ssj goku in my notes the other day for snapchat, while i was studying art history. I plan to be an animator in the future and am currently in my final year of college, studying graphic design. Since so many people are sharing their art, here’s something I did on a whiteboard in my dorm a while back. Took me 6 straight hours. I lost my original pictures so I took. I started drawing DBZ characters in middle school. Got pretty darn good. Then stopped after high school. Son Goku best uncle ever. Decided to try again 15 years later, little rusty, but I’m always down to draw some Future Trunks. This is a fan art I did of SonGoku both his child and adult versions because this was for the 30th anniversary of the animated series which launched in japan 30 yeara ago and well wanted to contribute to this, that its amazing 30 years and its still going on strong.

This is why I have a passion for collecting animation cells. Knowing that someone put in the time and effort for that one moment in the show, then also knowing how many people have seen that moment and experienced it is just incredible to me. I own a cell from when Piccolo merged with Nail, the speech that pumped him up before he went to fight Freeza. I own a cell from the Broly Movie, when Vegeta had given up hope and Piccolo drug his ass to the battle to show him just how pitiful he was being in his shock and fear.
