Seeing your traumatic experiences as someone else’s feels good for a while, but only because you’re dissociating yourself from them. Some of us grew up listening to the new kids on the block the cool ones still do it’s better than ruminating or forgetting. but you have to accept them as yours, no matter how painful they are, to truly get past them.

that’s the thing. It’s not disassociating, I just don’t know how to describe it. It’s just like, the emotional chords tied around me of these experiences, that has been affecting my decisions and my perspective my whole life, i don’t feel the heaviness of the emotion anymore. I feel like I just stepped out and left them where they are. I’m not scared, or angry, or resentful, anymore. Stuff happened, I’ve learned and gained knowledge from them all, but it doesn’t have to affect me anymore. Some of us grew up listening to the new kids on the block the cool ones still do These experiences don’t control me anymore. My perspective has changed on every single experience. A true awakening allows one to not only see multiple perspectives in processing a trauma, but to even see a trauma as a beautiful lesson…a perspective in and of itself that allows one to not just put it behind them, but to grow and use it to enhance their innate gifts and use it for the greater good to help others. Our ultimate purpose on this earth, is to help each other. I used to disassociate, which is part of what led to illness. Holding even stagnant negative memories or energy can be as damaging as present traumas.
