It is not always the numbers that matter, what matters the most is the intent! Our planet needs more such people who can and will contribute to the cause of conservation in their tiny little way which in turn can make a huge difference! Thanks, BBC Earth for sharing this!
My shirt has turtles on it shirt
Not only Trinidad but also in Tobago (the smaller island of the twin island state). Turtle beach has really wonderful turtle monitoring groups who spends countless nights monitoring the beaches. Hats off to everyone who assists in their preservation. It almost feels like David Attenborough is the spiritual embodiment of the animal kingdom in human form, and was brought forth from nature to educate us and to make us better understand it and it’s denizens. The vastness of his knowledge is unfathomable. My shirt has turtles on it. Ever since I was a little girl I would visit that same beach and go see the turtles lay! It’s really a sight to behold! There are other beaches as well where they lay beside this one shown here!

Be a cute turtle with our items!
Kudos to Len for educating the villagers on the importance of conserving these quiet animals! When I was a small child, our family went to the beach to spend the day, a regular event for us. It was a bit early in the morning, maybe 8 or 9 am, and was a little further up the coast from this very beach in Trinidad’s northeast coast. While the adults were busy getting the food and drinks ready for the day, us kids were playing nearby, when we spotted some movement in the sand. When we looked a bit closer we saw a tiny baby turtle struggling to find it’s way up to the surface! We dug around a little and found about three or four more, they were the last of the bunch! We all took one each and walked them down to the shore, and set them free.
