So I see the list, and I’ve had a few! I’m in Texas, but I’m planning a trip to Ireland this year. Going to trace some heritage! Any suggestions for best places to visit and best whiskeys to sample while I’m there?

Try the Teeling Distillery in Dublin. They also have a pretty cool local flea market outside in the parking lot on Sunday’s. Jameson Heritage Distillery in Dublin raise your hand to be a taste tester…lots to try and a hand signed Diploma for your wall. So I’m guessing I just need to plan my trip to Dublin and call it good? Still, have to trace my roots, but as far as a place to be, sounds like it’s going to be Dublin! Thanks for the info! I think they have a massive range of distillery’s all over Ireland both North and South. My wife is from Cork and the have a heritage distillery there too. I would say regardless of where you decide to go in Ireland Dublin is well worth a visit. Dr Seuss I will drink Jameson irish whiskey here or there I will drink jameson everywhere.

Looking for the “Irish” experience!!! Lots of laughs, whiskey, and memories!! Will be my first trip, not sure what to expect, to be honest! As far as I know, our original roots for both of us come from Wexford. Our name also originated from McDermott. I haven’t researched it a ton and I could be wrong. Tasted a glass of the 21 y.o Bushmill the last time I visited Belfast. The bartender said “Finally!” when I asked for it. Brought this back from Dublin 2 years ago. We’re saving it for the christening of our new barn in California – can’t wait to drink it! Jameson Casemates. I had a bottle of Bushmills that lasted me 3 years. After the first sip, I couldn’t bring myself to try it again. I finally threw it out. Castmates is great. You should Jameson Black Barrel. Very good whiskey. Good for Irish car bombs as well. A lot of very good whiskeys left out there. No Black Bush, Jameson’s Castmates, Crested Ten, etc. And that’s before we look at the ever-expanding range of aged and/or single malts.
