Don’t quit your job to deal with the housework full time, at least not while you’re feeling overwhelmed by the housework. If you were to do that now, you would feel like you are *always* at work, never able to rest because you see your work before you, and you know it’s never finished regardless of whether you WOH or SAH.
I won’t quit but I will swear the whole time shirt
When you go out to work, you get a change of pace from the housework (even though WOH is often super stressful it’s at least different from housework), and you get money that’s yours, if even for a second before you pay bills or buy groceries with it. Don’t give that up because of how you’re feeling right now. I won’t quit but I will swear the whole time. This is what I’m trying to do and I suck at it butI’m trying and it is helping insofar as I’m actually working at it: Pretend you’re moving. Do a deep purge. A deep purge. Pretend you only have a medium sized moving van and that’s IT.

And don’t miss these cool shirts!
I don’t mean suddenly become a fashionable minimalist. But get. rid. of. shit. Fewer things make for easier cleanup, or at least when it feels like there’s more space it feels cleaner. If your kids have too much crap: Put half the kids’ toys and clothes and whatever other crap they spread all around the house into Rubbermaid containers and shove them away somewhere for a month or two. Rotate them back into the kids’ rooms after a while and take away the other half of their stuff and pack *it* away. Or just take half of it away and donate it right now. Most kids have way too much stuff.
