If anything it reminds us of the horror & sacrifice these men made. Paintballs aren’t bullets, but you can imagine if they were. Just makes you wonder how they did it.
I play paintball because shooting stupid people in the face shirt
I find paintball to be a blast, but this disturbs me. We tend to over-glorify WWII when in reality it was one of the most gruesome events in human history. Having visited Normandy, including the American Cemetery, I can attest to the solemnity of these sites and I think this trivializes the sacrifice so many made. There’s nothing wrong with a giant paintball game, but let’s not use it to glorify one of the most horrific days in American history. I play paintball because shooting stupid people in the face. Quit being dramatic. This isn’t glorifying anything. It’s a game. More specifically a scenario paintball game. The scenario can be anything from a historical event or battle to fiction. There is no glorification, there is no disrespect. You could compare it to something like a video game. If anything it’s educational. Plenty of veterans have attended and played in this game. Ranging from WWII, Korea, and Vietnam to Desert Storm and currently enlisted soldiers. I have been attending this event since it first started and have personally met these men.

Playing paintball with your friends and our tee!
Throughout all of history, war has been reenacted. Whether physical or artistically. Do you go on Facebook pages for Civil War reenactors and berate them for glorifying the bloodiest battles on American soil? I consider this just another “war game”. Which is fine so long as everyone is having fun while safely re-enacting the event. Might even give some of the participants some perspective on the battle itself. There are hundreds of war reenactments every year!!!! They’re a tribute and a reminder of those fallen. Just because it’s paintballs instead of using replica guns and blanks that makes it offensive? Fuck off! This looks like an amazing event!
