In short, treating someone poorly based solely on skin color is another form of racism. There are many forms and Super daddio shirt I think we could spend all night listing the myriad varieties. Let me assure you that I do not think only the KKK variety of racism exists.
Super daddio shirt
I am not saying you are wrong to think this. Perhaps I am wrong and these folks are horrible white supremacists. I think, for the moment, we lack the information to fully determine that. And, lacking that information, I think it is premature to label the few actions we do know as full blown racism. Maybe I am wrong to hesitate in labeling people I do not know based only on a few sentences but I, Super daddio shirt personally, would like to think there is a different explanation beyond racism. I completely agree that racism is not just lynching. It is entirely possible to be a racist person and never lynched anyone or even wanted to lynch anyone. Racism has many forms and it is important that we do not lose sight of that. Refusing to hire someone based on their skin color. Assuming someone is dumber//less skilled than you based on their skin color.
Take it and hang out with it
That being said, I keep coming back to how little information we have from this story. We know that these people sometimes use the “n word” and we also know that they treat people of other races well; perhaps even as equals? I’m not sure if that is the case in the same way that I am not sure if these people do anything other than use racial slurs. My main message is that I think it is better to wait to know more before simply writing these people off as racists. I freely admit, however, that is entirely possible they are racists. I think it’s a highly offensive word –no denying it. But I’ve never understood why one race can say it and it’s not offensive but another race uses the same word and it is offensive. Curious on your thoughts!
