Sadly a lot of women have to put up with this for many years. It’s not always easy to just walk out and leave. Just because you stay in it doesn’t mean your not strong! Some of the strongest women are the ones who deal with this every day until they find a way out.

Funny it’s all about woman abuse, never men abuse by women, yes there are plenty woman, the so-called strong women that are more guilty of abusing men than we care to acknowledge, if women verbally or physically abuse men it’s fine but visa versa then it’s a problem, shame on you,you male abusers. Gun girl assuming I was like most grandmas. I don’t tolerate any crap, not one. The first sign of a red flag, I walk. Be it a family member, if they are not contributing positively and all I hear are negativity, they’re gone too. No exceptions.

Some people may think it’s extreme, but it works for me and I’m happier for it. I’m not saying I’m perfect (because no one is), however, I’m old enough to know what I will and will not tolerate. Abuse is not tolerable by any gender. Saying a strength has any thing to do in abuse is enforcing stereotypes. In fact, strength is often not a common trait among abusers period. Abuse in most cases is about insecurity, low self-esteem, control, and fear. Men are more likely not to report abuse so we don’t have accurate data on prevalence but statistically speaking women are more likely to be abuse than men. There are a lot of factors that play a role in that statistic like culture and gender norms. I also need to point Dave that you are on a site about women so it seems logical that the majority of the responses would be from women.
