When I was small we used to post our letter to Father Christmas up the chimney AND he used to come into the bedroom and put a large pillowcase full of presents at the bottom of the bed. Apart from that, I think almost everything else is incorrect in the article
Chillin with my snowmies ugly christmas shirt
I’m in the UK. I’ve never had presents by my bed. We put them under the tree. Also, we always have a beautiful tree. Never an ugly thing like the one in your article. Yes here in the UK years ago we had goose but then we followed the USA and had turkey. Also a ham. I love Christmas. Your article is wrong. We post our Christmas lists in the post box. We don’t burn them on a fire. Never heard of that one. Strange. Anyway, we also say Christmas. Chillin with my snowmies ugly christmas. When I was a little girl my father used to stoke up the fire the week before Christmas and we would sit together and toast chestnuts.

Then when the fire was strong we would put our letters to Father Christmas as close to the fire as we dared and watch them whoosh up the chimney (on the draft caused by the fire) to the man himself. If they fell down again and burned then the flames would take them away to fairy land so they could sort the more difficult requests for Father Christmas. We kept this tradition going for my children too and they loved it so much they always told their friends all about it too.
